Anmei is an emerging independent artist blending alternative soul, indie R&B and jazz-inspired textures into intimate and emotionally charged music.
Born in Cameroon, raised in France and now based in Australia, her musical journey began after a spontaneous a cappella performance during a trip to Indonesia — a moment that pushed her to finally pursue the passion she had carried since childhood.
Self-taught and deeply curious, Anmei began learning guitar and experimenting with production, building a home studio where she explores melodies through layered pads, guitar textures and rhythmic beats.
Drawing inspiration from artists like Willow Smith, Laufey and Joy Crookes, her sound balances melancholic storytelling with grooves that make listeners want to move, physically, emotionally or both.
Through vulnerable lyrics and evolving sonic experimentation, Anmei invites listeners into a deeply personal musical world where softness and intensity coexist.
